Durham Green Business Park extending to some 202 hectares, maintains the most advantageous position due to its railport which can meet the Agility Trains requirements for the rolling stock for the East Cost mainline. Durham Green Business Park borders the main London to Edinburgh railway line and is the only location in the North East that has direct access both onto the national rail network (East Coast Mainline) and national road network (Junction 61 A1M). The site has been made even more strategically important by the recently opened East West connection at Junction 61 of the A1M which links the A1 towards A19. A Durham motorway services entrance borders the site to the east. The location of Durham Green Business Park is central to both the Tyneside and Teesside conurbations, and therefore provides excellent links to both locations for suppliers and labour resources. It is anticipated to create more than 5,000 new jobs. The county council have already put a new road in, linking the park to the former East Durham coalfield.  The site is neighbouring the original Bowburn pit, so it is a major regeneration opportunity which will bring much needed new jobs to the area.  It is only 15 minutes drive from Premiership football at Sunderland and first class Cricket at Chester Le Street.”

The site not only has the ability to accommodate Agility Trains’ requirements as outline planning permission has been granted for phase 1 based on a master plan for 65,030m² of B1, B2 and B8 offers manufacturing and warehouse accommodation on a total of 30.9 hectares of land, with availability up to 202 hectares. The site will also allow suppliers and complimentary users to locate next to the on-site facilities. This will be of national importance due to its strategic location as well as generating employment in the North East.

Durham Green Business Park offers either land sales or turnkey design and builds solutions to occupiers on either freehold or leasehold terms.

Durham Green Business Park is working closely with national firm of developments and would welcome the opportunity to provide a specific proposal covering specification, programme, cost and heads of terms for consideration. Furthermore the Developers assemble together a delivery team of experts to respond to specific occupier requirements and to provide a seamless delivery package which is efficient and cost effective. The developers are able to deliver fast track manufacturing and distribution facilities, having achieved some of the UK’s fastest implementation times to meet end users occupation dates.

At least 10 per cent of the park’s energy needs will be met from renewable sources. David Martin Abrahams has declared, “I want Durham Green to be a model of sustainable development and sustainable jobs in the 21st century,” David added. “I have already pledged that any profits I make from the development will go to charitable organisations. This is corporate and social responsibility in practice.”
